Amazing Pakistani Sportspersons Hussain Shah

Pakistan used to feature on Olympics medal table almost every time because of hockey but in 1988, it was not happening and Pakistani contingent was supposed to return home without a medal. But then from Boxing ring, Hussain Shah created history when he reached the semifinals of Welterweight class and ensured a bronze medal for his country.

Hussain Shah belonged to Lyari, Karachi and rose to National fame and fortune after this feat. He continued to shine in boxing particularly in Asia. He won five gold medals in South Asian games and also remained best boxer in Asia from 1980 to 1989.

After entering into professional boxing, Hussain Shah is now involved in training boxers in different countries as a senior coach.

For his contribution in boxing, Hussain Shah was awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz by Government of Pakistan
